- Racial Harmony Day Celebrations
On 21 July each year, schools in Singapore commemorate Racial Harmony Day (RHD) to mark the anniversary of the 1964 racial riots. On this day, students will reflect on and celebrate Singapore as a harmonious society built on a rich diversity of cultures. Since its inception in 1998, RHD has helped to promote inter-racial understanding among our students and is an important part of our national education. This year’s RHD theme is “Celebrating Singapore”. It acknowledges that Singapore’s diversity gives us much cause to celebrate, as we work towards envisioning and creating a more inclusive Singapore. With our resources and imagination, Singapore will continue to progress in a changing world. The RHD celebrations are a reminder that promoting social cohesion and racial harmony requires collaborative efforts from our educators, students and stakeholders, such as parents. more info

We believe that kindness starts with one – one person, one act of kindness, can inspire others to be more patient, more considerate and to be more kind. Kindness Day SG is a collaborative effort between the Singapore Kindness Movement, the Ministry of Education, and other partners from the public and private sector. Kindness Day SG begins with the launch at North View Primary School, and will close with a celebration by the banks of the Singapore River. more
