Day 3

Students came back with more sketches that matched closer to the requirements of the design brief this time.

Example: Developments Sketches of Hui Ying

Students who managed to come up with feasible ideas continued to refine their designs by improving the details. They combed through the internet for pictures of the multi-racial community in Singapore, in their traditional costumes. While the rest of the students continued their search on the Internet to trigger them with better ideas.

Students digested the information found from the web sites and further developed their designs. For example Hui Ying tried to design four different unique hair styles to represent the faces of the four major races in Singapore.

Example: This idea is selected among the rest to be developed.

Example: Developments on the details.

The design should look simple, intuitive, interesting and memorable. The students constantly refined their designs to bring out these elements. The results was a series of interesting developments. In every step, details were polished, colours were considered and different related entities were combined. These developments were done to achieve as close to the final look and feel.

Example: When the design was finalized, colours were considered.
