The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the best built environment for Singapore, our distinctive global city. It is the mission of BCA to shape a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment. “Built environment” refers to buildings, structures and infrastructure in our surroundings that provide the setting for the community’s activities.
The visit will give students an overview on the development of Singapore’s built environment. The four key pillars of an excellent built environment, namely, safety, quality, sustainability and friendly, are highlighted collectively in this multi-sensory treat of interactive exhibits, model showcases and pull-out panels.
At the end of the visit, students will gain a better understanding of how BCA has a significant influence on the built environment and how they distinguish Singapore’s built environment from those of other cities.
At the BCA Gallery, students can look forward to an interactive journey through the various stages of development of Singapore’s built environment. From the formative years to the current developments and towards the future vision of the built environment, students will be able to gain useful insight into the past, the present and the future of our built environment.
Moving to the SensoryGarden, the students will also get to experience the different sights, sounds textures, smells and tastes in a comfortable and calming environment.
