18 Sep: Recognising Best Practices of Schools in Delivering Holistic Education
This year, five schools are awarded the Best Practice Award for Student All-Round Development, Teaching and Learning, as well as Staff Well-Being, under the Ministry of Education (MOE) Masterplan of Awards (MoA) 2011.
21 Jul: Infosheet on Racial Harmony Day 2011

21 Jul: Infosheet on Racial Harmony Day
As part of National Education, schools commemorate Racial Harmony Day on 21 July every year to mark the anniversary of the 1964 racial riots. This is a day for students to reflect on and celebrate our success as a harmonious nation built on a rich diversity of cultures.

22 Dec: Performance by Ethnic Group 1999-2008
The Ministry of Education releases data on the performance of the major ethnic groups annually. The objective is to provide feedback to the communities on how their children fared in the national examinations.

The Committee on National Education was formed in August 2006 to look into how National Education (NE) could be improved to better engage our young and encourage them to shape the character and life of our society.

24 Aug: Committee on National Education
The Ministry of Education is setting up a Committee on National Education (NE) to look at ways to further strengthen the heartware and rootedness of our young, and encourage them to shape the character and life of the society they will inherit.

9 Mar: Qualitative Approach to CCA and CIP in Junior College
MOE will remove the minimum 6-hour requirement for CIP for all students in JCs and the CI from this year.

4 Aug: President to Launch Students' Gift to the Nation
Student representatives from primary, secondary, junior college as well as Special Education Schools will present a gift to the nation on its 40th birthday. The gift, a book entitled “Today In History : Singapore”.

2004

14 Jul: Racial Harmony Discovery Day 2004
1,300 Primary 4 and Secondary 2 pupils as well as 340 student leaders from junior colleges and centralised institute (JCs/CI) will participate in Racial Harmony Discovery Day, to be held on Saturday, 17 July 2004.

17 Jul: Racial Harmony Music and Dance Day 2003
About 1250 student participants from 49 Primary and 34 Secondary Schools, representing all 28 school clusters will take part in the Racial Harmony (RH) Music and Dance Day on Saturday, 19th July 2003, at Anglo-Chinese Junior College.

2002

25 Apr: Strenghtening Racial Harmony in Schools
The Committee on Strengthening Racial Harmony in Schools chaired by Mr Hawazi Daipi, Parliamentary Secretary (Education), and comprising representatives from schools, parent support groups and the community met for the first time on 25 April.

10 Aug: Performance Indicators, Sustained Achievement Awards, Best Practice Awards and National Education Awards for Secondary Schools 2002
This year, the Ministry of Education will be giving out the Lee Kuan Yew National Education (LKY NE) Award for the first time.

10 Feb: Schools' Commemoration of Total Defence Day
Total Defence (TD) Day will be commemorated by schools on Mon 15 Feb 99 to mark the fall of Singapore to the Japanese on 15 Feb 42.

28 Apr: New Social Studies (Primary) Syllabus To provide another avenue for the implementation of National Education (NE).

9 Feb: Schools' Commemoration of Total Defence Day
It is one of four key historical events that schools will commemorate as part of National Education.

24 Feb: Launch of "Learning Journeys"
RAdm (NS) Teo Chee Hean, Minister for Education on 28 February at 0900 hours at St. Andrew's Junior College.

9 Jul: Visit to the National Education Exhibition
As part of the National Education for schools, about 223,000 students from primary schools, secondary schools, junior colleges, centralised institutes and the Institutes of Technical Education will be attending the National Education Exhibition (NEE) 1998.

17 Jul: Commemoration of Racial Harmony Days in Schools
Schools will commemorate Racial Harmony Day to mark the race riots which occurred on 21 Jul 1964.

23 Jul: National Day Ceremony For Schools
As part of their celebrations, schools will observe the National Day Ceremony, which has been introduced this year as part of the school programme to enhance the significance of the National Day celebrations.

15 Oct: National Education Quiz
All Primary Six and Secondary Three pupils will participate in the National Education Quiz.

16 May: The Launch of National Education
The Ministry of Education will launch National Education in schools.

27 May: Addenda to President's Address at Opening of Parliament
Schools must focus more sharply on National Education to instil in our young a strong sense of shared identity and confidence in our future.
